Every story needs characters, but how exactly do you develop them? In this course, you'll learn how to design a character arc that matches your plot, how to share character exposition without falling into the dreaded "info dump", and how to use other story details to reinforce your character's traits and growth.
Included in this course:
live lessons
recorded replays
character building questionnaire
guided exercises to develop character traits
These lessons are built on academic standards for students in grades 6-8, and include materials to support students who are learning these skills at an introductory level.
These lessons are built on academc standards for students in grades 9-12, and include materials which provide a more in-depth study of the featured topics, skills, and materials.
Live lessons will meet 2-3 times a week via Zoom according to the class schedule. Each zoom meeting will include a lesson, time for discussion and questions, and an activity to be completed offline. If you can't make it to a live class, each meeting will be recorded and will be available to watch the next morning. When the term is over, you will lose access to the videos, but your learning materials (worksheets, downloads, etc.) are yours to keep.
